Engraved Plaques

The school that I work at is having a Christmas night out next week and I have been given the task of organising the event. One of the things that the senior management wanted to do was to get some engraved plaques to hand out to the staff who had really stood out in their efforts during the year. I thought that this was a great idea and got on with the job of finding some really nice engraved plaques straight away. I managed to find a company who did really expensive looking engraved plaques at a really good price so the senior management team were really pleased. Now I have to get on with the job of organising the rest of the event. I thought it would be a really great idea to get a staff karaoke going and so have asked all of the staff to put down a song that they would like to sing on the night. I think that this is going to be a real hoot and should get everybody in the Christmas spirit straight away. When I have chatted to all of the staff I can tell that they are really looking forward to the evening and so am I. It´s going to be really great.

Brass Plaques

My husband plays for a cricket team with a lot of his friends and recently, at the end of the season they were talking about getting cups with brass plaques for the people who had been the best team players of the season. They thought that brass plaques would be a good idea because they really look nice and also, it would be something for the players to remember for ever. It came to pass that my husband was the one responsible for finding and engraving the brass plaques and this was a task he was very happy to do. As he said to me, he has had a very hard year both emotionally and professionally. He has had emotional problem s because his mother died earlier in the year and he had financial problems because he was made redundant from his job. It is really unfortunate for someone to have so many problems in one year but, as my husband has said, his cricket team mates have been a real life line to him in troubled times. When his mother died they were there at any time of day or night to call upon and when he lost his job, they came round and took him out to cheer him up. He is really looking forward to paying them all back in however small a way.

Engraved Plaques

As the manager of a pub football team, my husband is at the moment looking for some engraved plaques to hand out at the annual awards ceremony which the team hold. Obviously, a lot of the awards are for comedy value but he does find that giving out the engraved plaques really focuses the players on the ceremony and gives it some seriousness that they really enjoy. Most of the players have got some foible or other that my husband can seize on and put on to the engraved plaques such as the noisiest player or the one who drinks the most pints in the pub after the game! He is really looking forward to the event because they really have a good laugh at it. He has also decided to order some catering in for the event so that they can make a real night of it. He has asked me to look into how much it would cost to provide a hot meal for the evening and wants to make sure that he is not asking too much money from his players for their tickets. I told him I was sure that we would find something suitable that will make the evening go really well.

Memorial Plaque

At my place of work one of our dearest and best loved employees died over the summer. She was universally popular and always had a sympathetic ear for everyone in the workplace. When she died none of us could believe it and it was the saddest day I have ever spent at work. We decided collectively as a group that we would get a memorial plaque made especially for her saying how much we all missed her and felt much less whole without her. We wanted the memorial plaque to be a really good size so that everyone could see it easily and think of her each time they looked at it. When the memorial plaque was finally unveiled, the whole office was unanimous in their appreciation of it. It really does look lovely and it is in pride of place in our reception. It really is fitting to have it there as she was in a way the face of the company who greeted everyone who came into the office with a great big smile on her face and a kind word as well. I know that this plaque will make her memory live on with us for ever.

Metal Plaques

I work at a local primary school and around the school we have metal plaques which celebrate the successes of people from the school who have graduated. For such a small school, there are quite a lot of metal plaques and I think that the school should be very proud of how they have managed to educate and bring out the best in these young people. When I last counted, there were forty brass plaques dotted around the school and I was really impressed that they had managed to turn out so many successful young people. However, having said that, the school has got one of the best reputations I have ever heard and it is constantly oversubscribed I have even heard of parents lying on the application form to say that they live in the area when in fact they do not. All the parents that do live in the area are very middle class so I suppose the school is very likely to succeed when all of its pupils are from a very good background. There does not seem to be any children with problem behaviour causing trouble in the classroom so the students are left to learn properly.

Stainless Steel Plaques

My brother works for a company that makes stainless steel plaques and he has done this ever since he left school at the age of sixteen. He was very lucky to get in with this firm as stainless steel plaques is not the first type of business that people think of going into when they are leaving school. It so happened that the company themselves had the foresight to contact the school to see if they had any suitable students who might work for them. The school immediately suggested my brother as he has always enjoyed working with his hands and making things. Although we all expected him to go into some sort of building work, we soon realised that working on stainless steel plaques was a good alternative for him and it has turned out to be a field that he has really excelled in. The company he works for is really pleased that they made the decision to employ him as well. He has managed to work his way up in the company and now he is in a position of trust that is the envy of all his colleagues.
